    Goal ! Goal ! Goal!

Uh well...just finished watching the football matches so my mind is full of it at this moment. Germany won against Argentina ( I lost a bet, damnit!) And Italy won against Ukraine. It has been really crazy out here today, with these matches, especially the one between Germany and Argentina.
Normally when I come back from work, in the train I hardly see a soul. Today I didnt have a place to sit. That is because people from all the nearby rural areas were on their way to Bremen.
And when I reached Bremen, it was crazier! People wearing German flags, skirts, weirdest hats that you could ever see..their hair the colour of german flag were all around. I am sure you guys know, they put TVs in the toilets in the bars at some places so that people dont miss a second of the match! Bloody crazy.
Somehow, I was all for Argentina. At home, friends and housemates were there to support Germany. In good spirits, I also got my arms tatooed with German flag.;) And when Germany won (5:3), my goodness! you'd think they won the world cup already!! It was mass celebration everywhere. People shouting, "We are going to Berlin!" ( as in German team; the final is in Berlin) all around me. But I must say, it was a great match to watch. :)And when you are in a place like this, the spirit automatically comes to you and you join the celebration. I wish though that Argentina had won. :(
Then was the other match between Italy and Ukraine where Italy won 3:0 where people didnt show so much spirit but still watched it. (Obviously, as Germany wasnt playning in this one)

For me, I went out with friends after the match and took a walk on the way back along the river. After all the noise, I wanted some peace.

And now, am back home, writing. Time to go to sleep in some time, listeing to jazz. But first, I shall browse through some blogs. Need to see if LJ posted any new story there to read. ;)

Oh and tomorrow, I will go to the Universum Science Center. It has no guided tour, but as they say, "skilled scouts" answer all your queries, taking you to the journey on topics like Mankind, Earth and Cosmos. Should be interesting.
Will tell you all about it tomorrow evening if I dont go dancing. :)

  • LOL, I love supporting the wrong country when you're in a country:) It's hard not to get influenced by what everyone around you is doing though!

    • Yeah..definitely. Sorry for replying so late. But ur right u know. I never thought, I could like football. I played it before but wasnt passionate about it. But when you're in a place where everyone goes completely bonkers over it..ur bound to be affected. ;)

      • True, I started playing before I started watching and fell for my team, Arsenal, in a big way in April 1995. We were playing Sampdoria away. Won't bore you with the details but it was a five-goal thriller and went to penalties (second leg of a match which had also been 3-2 in the first leg). Have been in love ever since:)

        • My goodness! u play professional football???!!! i love it when the opp team gets the yellow card..hehehehe..wicked..but then again, its all part of the game!
Today, (rubbing my hands together) the match between Germany and Italy..lets see....who do u think might come up? Germany has its morale high at this point of time and unlike last world cup, its not just luck..this time the dudes are working upon different strategies for different countries.
          What say?

          • LOL no, I don't play professionally, just mess around with a ball a lot:) I have played for my University once but can't every week cos it clashes with Christian Union and I have to put God first.

There is a lot of money flying around at my work with people from different nationalities making various bets so I have no idea who the majority want to see win. I'm Switzerland, in the neutral sense and not the footballing sense. lol

    • damn..the Swiss..they lost but atleast saved their faces by playing real good..sorry for responding so late..on the weekend, caught sunstroke and so was sick with it today..didnt do anything much except lie around..and then..when i felt a bit better but still moody..went shopping..nothing else to perk u up but shopping..lol.
But on football, its Germany vs. Italy tomorrow..lets see what happens then..I dont think people will really do anything else but talk about for the next few days..even at work!
