Festivals and the evils that follow them.

    Hello there!
I almost forgot that I had created a blog with my work pressing upon me day and night. I have not had a moment's rest and when I did, i hit on something that I think, every individual on God's delightful earth, should read.

Please go to http://www.greenpeace.org/international/press/reports. I have been a member since the last 5 months now and i dearly love to promote our environmental causes...Which I did today too!
Today is supposed to be DevDiwali in India. According to Indian mythology, the Gods celebrate their diwali a fortnight after we mortals do..But I'm sure Gods dont decide to blast the volcanoes and crack the earth on this day or we be all dead, one year or the other!
In India, especially, in the State where I live, Gujarat and the city where I live, Ahmedabad; it seems Gods HAVE decided indeed to make sure our mother Earth suffers as much as she can here. As if on the Diwali day, fire crackers were not enough to pollute entire city, they are doing it again today.
Diwali, for me, is a time to be with the family, to light candles and wish brightness in your near and dear ones lives, not ruin it by giving them asthama!
Who would make them understand? I was able to convince only a few from my whole neighbourhood that they can burst crackers for enjoyment, but atleast burn the ones which make the sky glow with sparkle and light, not the ones which create noise pollution and air pollution to the extremes. The others remain, as they are...untouchable as ever, in these matters.
